We may have the
largest crowd ever to watch a Giant Pumpkin Contest in the Pacific Northwest. 3,000 to 5,000 excited festival goers are expected to visit The Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maize on Saturday, October 5th. Free admission for all spectators.
The Pumpkin Patch has been a family tradition for over 30 years. In addition to participating in the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off you are invited to come and relax in the grassy picnic areas-enjoy a delicious lunch in a serene atmosphere and visit the ‘Patio Café’, Giftshop, Produce Market, Corn and Hay Maize. Information on the web site http://thepumpkinpatch.com about the Patio Café says “You’ll Be Back, We Promise.”
The Pumpkin Patch is located on Sauvie’s Island, just 15 minutes northwest of Portland, Oregon. From Portland, take Highway 30 West towards Scappoose to the Sauvie’s Island Bridge. After crossing the bridge, circle to the left and loop back under the bridge, following Gillihan Road to the farm. Head straight 2 miles until you see The Pumpkin Patch signs.

Stan,

Newsletter states that members will receive a T-shirt and dinner. I am a member, but regret that I am unable to attend because of work. Don't need the dinner, but do I still get a T-shirt? Wish I were there!

Duff,
I tell you what.....you pack that 550 lb. pumpkin into your back pack and start heading our way. When you arrive at my house, we'll put you up for the night, load that pumpkin into my pick-up and drive the rest of the way to
Portland! Your $2000 first prize money ought to buy you an airline ticket back home!
