Brian, I'll be there late. I have a little league football game in the morning. My wife will be taking my son's pumpkin. about 350 lbs. My son will be late, he'll be playing in the game.

Your contest sounds like nobody will show up to see it. How many growers come there? I'm from Colorado, I'd show up, but not to a 50 something crowd and 5 growers total. Is it a bigger event than that, or am I wrong? Seems like interest in that weigh off isn't very big. Are prizes given out at all, or is it just a place to weigh your pumpkins, as it is here at our local weigh off?

i'll be there.
Marc it's a GPC event but it's not a big weigh off, and it's only in it's 2nd year. There will be more than 5 growers there but i'd guess not more than 20. I know there are several growers who should be there but they don't hang out on BP or the internet period.

I will be at the weighoff. I tore my akilies tendon Aug 1, so I will be the guy on crutches, begging for help.

I couldn't get to the patch for a while. My kids have kept things alive, but not much growth since Mid-August. Pumpkins are in the 400 lb range.

This will be my first weigh-off.

I'll also be there with a couple pumpkins. We'll be on the road most of the day friday in the old pickup. Hope she makes it. Probably should have only put 1 pumpkin on her, but we're all a little nuts once in a while!!.....aren't we??
