What a pleasant surprise to have Andy Wolf in attendance! That's a LONG drive. Equally impressive was seeing our great friends from West Virginia By God!!! Uncle Dunkel and Burrhead in the house!

Many thanks to the Burton's for supporting this event and for providing loads of entertainment for the children at such a cheap price. Days like these are hard to beat.

West By God Virginia

I want to give a special thanks to Keith (burrhead)for being a great friend and better traveling companion. John and Shiela Van Hook for having Keith and me as guests in their house. I had a great time visiting with John, Jim and Ma and Pa Van Hook again. The weigh off was a blast! I got to see the 2 biggest watermelons I've ever seen and the biggest pumpkin I've ever seen. I also got a kick watching that pumpkin gun launch pumpkins a half mile or so away.

I really enjoyed visiting with Frank Mudd, Bill Brinkley, Chris Kent (smoky mtn pumpkin), Jeff Zoellner (Bodene), Jamie Wexler, Jimmy Sowers, Dwight Slone, Judy (pumpkin carver), Stevann (croley bend) Michelle DeWitt and anyone else who came up and said hi to Uncle Dunkel.

Larry, Billy and the whole Burton crew at Bear Wallow were very nice folks and I thank them very much for their hospitality. Also want to thanks the forklift operators and the folks who helped lift and strap up the pumpkins and melons. They were the reason things moved so smoothly.

Nice show, one and all who helped put it on.

We had a great time, if we are able to make it again, we'll be sure to stay a lot longer. Wanted to this time, but work got in the way. Lots of nice folks down there. I love seeing records broken, so that was quite a treat. Bill and Frank got me excited about giving the melons a better shot next year for sure. Keith - thanks for the help gutting the pumpkin!
