its a great way to start it out.shocking actually.

lets hope rons topsfield entry this sat? and frerichs farm entry for 10-10 ? weigh-out as well.

i know hes my son and im tooting a horn but the guy works his ass off on this hobby,helps many a grower with their soil and systems and has set some good examples for other top growers to follow.its one thing to know it . its another to share it.

Thanks everyone. I was shocked at the weight but it did look nasty.The best measurment on this one for 7-days was 28 pounds a day then 24 then 18 pounds a day for 3-weeks. In the near future someone will get one of these "slow growers" to tape low 17's and weigh 2000.

I think your right Ron, If you would have had the weather like you did back in 2007 that pumpkin just could have been a real whopper to contend with.
That 1288 seed genes of yours is just what we need to break that 2000 lb mark sooner then we think. I have seen a couple more pumpkins this year so far that could also help out, like Pughs pumpkin and Todd Skinners 1270. All small size but amazingly heavy.

This year pumpkins seem like they are staying a tad smaller but yet going really ,really heavy. That's exactly what we need in the gene pool to help us get over that 2000 lb mark. And Ill go out on a limb here and say
if we have good weather next year 2000 lbs can be broken sooner then we all thought.
