Here is our weigh off prize structure for Bengtson's Farm in Homer Glen Illinois for Sunday Oct 2nd, 2011 starting at noon. Registration is from 8 to 10 am and i will be there at 7 am for early unloaders.

1. $5000 and holder of The IGPGA traveling belt for the year

and $100 for the prettiest and Howard Dill Award
totaling $10,000 in prize money

First place winning pumpkin will be retained by the Bengtson's to be exhibited for all to see until halloween and every last seed will be retrieved by IGPGA reps on Nov. 1st, dried for 2 weeks, and sent to the grower.

We invite everyone with pumpkins big and small to come to the weigh off for a good time to be had by all. Tailgaiting will be permitted as long as adult beverages are in cups and not in obvious plain site. During the show you can always go refill at your vehicle and enjoy adult beverages during the show as well. All registered entries will get a family pass of 4 into the farm which has kid amusement rides, a big monster slide, pig races with a nice bleacher area for viewing the races, a pumpkin cannon that launches them every half hour, top notch food, paved areas through the whole farm for strollers and wheelchairs, a corn maze, hayrides, and fields of pumpkins and gourds, and all kinds of kids entertainment all day long.

And anyone from Illinois or beyond who just wants to come and hang out and enjoy the show, please come hang out and have fun. That is what it truly is all about. The weigh off itself is free an open to the public. For newbies, it is a great chance to learn from the growers. We are all a friendly bunch who will answer everything you got to ask. We have all been there before. Come join the fun!
