The first place prize of $5000 sponsored by the Bengtson Family will stand. Unfortunately due to a reduction of revenue from seeds sales and seed auctions, compounded by recent notification that some of our sponsors from the past are no longer able to afford donating to the weighoff, the prize structure that the IGPGA will be offering will be reduced. Plain and simple we did our best to canvas other businesses to make up the difference, but we fell short. We have been fighting until the end but feel we need to make every grower planning on attending our event aware of the new prize structure with time to alter their decisions on where to weigh themIafter seeing the new prize structure list. 1. 5000 2. 1500 3. 700 4. 400 5. 200 6. 100 7. 50
50 dollars Howard Dill Award
Sorry for the delayed info....but we did our best. Thanks. Jeff Shenoha

A little confusion if growers are expected to leave the pumpkins at Bengtson after the weigh-off. Can we leave with our pumpkins after the weigh-off is over?

Yes.....the 5000 dollar first place pumpkin is retained by the Bengtons to display until october 31st. Seeds will be retrieved and dried by IGPGA ,and sent back to rower. All othe entries go home with th e growers. If one happens to weigh in the top 3 in the world, then the Bengtons undestand how it will go to the the champions exhibit out east.
