Growers, I would like to apologize to the pumpkin growing community for Operation Pumpkins inability to secure the funds neccesary to pay the growers in a timely manner this past year in Hamilton, Ohio. This was our first event and we had very limited time and personnel to put it together. I would like the pumpkin growing community to know that all growers have been paid in full and we have asked qualified individuals to take over the weigh off for this up coming year. We, Operation Pumpkin, are confident that these well respected individuals will bring a level of professionalism to the event. Everyone should be hearing from those individuals in the upcoming days or weeks. I would also like to clarify that Operation Pumpkin was solely responsible for not being able to secure the funds and accepts all responsibility and for that we apologize.

I had a gut feeling that payout would be an issue and is the sole reason I didn't attend. However, I would have liked for this weigh off to stay "private". Kudos for publicly accepting responsibility and for posting an honest and well worded apology.

All's well that ends well. Although I did not attend, I think you did an excellent job and fell it will be even better next year.
