JK, I usually take a pumpkin up there every year. The weigh-off is Wen. Sept. 25 from 6-9 pm. Registration is free and you do it at the time of arrival. Your pumpkin will have to stay till the end of the festival which is Sunday the 29th I believe pick-up time is between 4&5pm if you don't pick it up by 5 it will be auctioned off.

The winner of the weigh-off does not get his/her pumpkin back it is auctioned off to go on display, you will receive half of the seeds back, the other half goes to the Barnesville wigh-off to raise money for the following years weigh-off.

I believe the payouts for the top 3 are:
1 $1 per pound
2 $500
3 $400

Barnesville is a beautiful small town and the festival is great! Definitly a great family weigh-off spot.
