T minus 22 days and counting until our weigh-off at Hamilton on October 2nd! Our web page at sogpg.com has been updated and registration for giant pumpkins begins at 2:00 P.M. The weigh-off will begin at 4:00 P.M. Watermelons and all other entries will be weighed on Saturday the 3rd.

Last year we weighed back-to-back Ohio records for both giant pumpkins and giant watermelons, with Bill Neptune of New Concord, OH taking the pumpkin crown at 2008 pounds and Sue Barber of Mt. Orab, OH smashing the watermelon title with a 296.5-pounder.
Rumors surrounding this year's weigh-off are beginning to circulate relevant to some big surprises in store, so don't miss the opportunity to attend and see how it all unfolds!

The SOGPG expects the usual organized chaos and welcomes the help of member volunteers. If you plan to enter the competition, be sure to plan ahead and complete your entry registration in advance. The form can be printed from our website. Please be as complete as possible.
