2016 SOGPG Prize List

Giant Pumpkins

1st place: $4,000.00 – If the site record of 2,008 pounds is broken, an additional $500.00 will apply.
2nd place: $2,000.00
3rd place: $1,500.00
4th place: $1,000.00
5th place: $750.00
6th through 10th place: $500.00
11th through 15th place: $400.00
16th through 20th place: $300.00
Howard Dill Award: $500.00

World Record: For anyone weighing a pumpkin at Operation Pumpkin which breaks the world record of 2,323 pounds, a $1,000.00 bonus will apply. Only one of the record bonuses shall apply in the case of a new world record.

The heaviest pumpkin grown from either of the top three seeds of the SOGPG 2014 and 2015 weigh-offs shall receive a $300.00 bonus in addition to any other bonuses which may apply. These seeds are: 1692.5 Werner 2015, 1423.5 Huffer/Bowers 2015, 1397.5 Rose 2015, 2008 Neptune 2014, 1790.5 Rose 2014, and 1585.5 Werner 2014.

All pumpkins shall remain on display at Operation Pumpkin throughout its duration and all pumpkins up to 1,000 pounds in weight are subject to being picked for carving, in which case the SOGPG will retrieve and dry the seeds and return them to their owner. Any entry which is not picked up by its owner by 3:00 P.M on Sunday, October 9, 2016 will have its seeds removed and processed by the SOGPG and sent back to the owner.

Giant Watermelons

1st place: $1,000.00 – If the world record of 350.5 pounds is broken, an additional $500.00 will apply. If the state record of 296.5 pounds is broken, an additional $250.00 will apply. Only one of the record bonuses shall apply in the case of a new world record.

My bad Chris. I notified everywhere else but here.

Giant pumpkins and giant green squash will be weighed on Friday, October 7th, with registration at 11:00 A.M and weigh-off beginning at 2:30 P.M. Giant watermelons and all others will compete on Saturday, October 8th, with registration at 10:00 A.M and weigh-off/measuring at 1:00 P.M.
