Hi all, I am wondering when sidevines start growing on bushel gourds. I have 2 large plants. 1- 2foot plant and 1- 3 foot plant. Both are growing 3-4 inches a day and have yet to see side vines start to form. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine are about the same. They are pretty slow compared to the AGs. I’m guessing that once established, they will speed up a little

I think my problem here are the cooler night-time temperatures.

Did some research. It's a plant with origins from equatorial Africa It likes hot weather. Grows fast with weather in the mid 80'sF.

Now. When the heat turns on everything in the Bushel Gourd plant should grow a lot.

Thanks for the help. Mine is 10 feet wide and 15 feet long now. Just polinated one 3 days ago that looks like it took.
