i am a complete novice...definately giving it a try next year. My biggest question now..if i aim for a mid-august pollination, what time should i germinate?

Similar to pumpkins. Plant size maximum of 15ft x 15ft. Pollinate after you have ended all growth on the side vines. Keep the main vine going just in case your marrow aborts. I set them at 15-17ft out usually. I germinate them second half of May.
