I think it is very possible.If you grow a WR and take it to a small weigh-off.You might have the prettiest Orange pumpkin in the bunch.I know most people think it will never happen,Butt I think we can do it.ORANGE WORLD RECORD!!!Round tall and nice shape.Maybe not perfect.Butt looking like a pumpkin for sure.

I agree, but it not be limited to only Marks seeds. There are other serious HD genetics out there that have gone 10% heavy and have multiple years’ worth of HD genetics in their background.... We need diversity here, not hyperbole

Yes Its not limited to my seeds anyone can grow it,and may grow it.As my contests get older more & more growers will be on board with there genetics.Like Joe Jutras 1998.5 is already on board & Petes 1583 will merge next year with the Big orange Challenge.I beg to differ Wizzy!!Plus the WR might not come from my seeds.Hyperbole is what we need to grow this great sport!!We all need to share the stage and more BUZZZZzzz To keep the new growers coming!!Take the Challenge & be in the top 3 and next year your seed is one we grow.Its Easy as that.

#4 The winning 4 Pumpkins from this 2016 contest will merge with the winning 3 from the 2016 Bubba Challenge & become the seeds we grow in 2017 The Bubbas Big Orange & will be the only contest in 2017 (eliminating the Bubba Challenge)

Thanks Wizz & Frank for pointing this out.I have given it some thought.I will open the seed choice up for the Big Orange Challenge.

If you have a Orange pumpkin line that has grown 2 kins over 1900 lbs that are all orange.No need to mention all the others it has grown.I will include that seed in my contest for 2016.My goal here is to get more folks growing Big Orange Pumpkins.Butt I think we should build this line on the biggest Orange genetics available to get us there quicker.My name will quickly come off the contest seed choice,as each season comes & goes new names will appear on the seeds.Jutras,Vanderwielen etc.Sorry it looks so 1 sided at this point & time.That will change as we grow our effort with the contests.I know you guys are good enough growers to make the top 4. hey mark, in your big orange contest are we limited to just the seeds that you offer or can we also grow our own seeds such as a 1770 lieber or any seed we feel that can grow big orange ?

No this year it will be the seeds offered. 1317,1734,1947.5 1177 & 1998.5.Next year it will be the top 4 from this contest & the top 3 from the Bubba Challenge.I was going to go that way at first,Butt after talking to a few growers.They thought I should just do my seed line.They thought it was the biggest Orange producer so far.So lets stick to these genetics.The more people who grow the same seedline you are most likely will find the best of the best.If we grow seeds from all over.We are less likely to find the silver bullet.

Getting my 1172 grown out in prime patches next year will play out, the genetics are there.... 2009, 1450 Wallace, 1810 Stevens,and the 1662 Stelts...all in one bright shiny heavy rapper...

Can you explain the final rules on the Bubba orange Challenge; Last week I understood, you can use your own seed and win if it was bright orange symmetric and big?
This week you talked to a couple growers who told you to change the rules and now you have to use only Bubbas seeds to win; today you said you can win, using your own
seed if it is a certain size Pumpkin?

You can pick one ,the 1947.5 or the 1734.5 or the 1177 with your $35 membership fee.You get 1 seed with 2016 membership.You can also choose to grow the 1317 Clementz or the 1998.5 Jutras & obtain one from a club auction at Big Pumpkins.com this December through Feburary & help support your favorite growers club.
I will also sell the 1317s for $150 to help fund the WWGG prize structure.There are only a small hand full left.

What I was saying is >If you show me a seed that has grown 2 pumpkins ALL orange over 1900 lbs? I will consider letting that seed into the contest.I am not aware of any seed doing that yet?Please letr me know if there is one?I think the 1317 is a very good line.It has not been grown by a lot of Heavy Hitters,Butt has been in the top 10 for the past 2 seasons.Trying to keep the 2009 Wallace Orange Genectics X 1495 Stelts going in the Big heavy direction.Thats why I dont want to let smaller genetics in the line.

If you win/place/show in this years contest. Then the next season your seed will be grown as part of the contest.

I think tats where people are missing the boat.They dont want to grow MY seed.Butt if you win?? Then we grow your seed.Make these genetics yours!!!

The only seeds at this point & time are the ones I posted.Any others would have to be approved by me & then I will add that seed to the website page.

What are the plus 1900's so far that all orange. I think the 1912 carter 2015 qualifies. That was grown from the 1750.5 martin 2014. What are the other 1900's?

It took two years for the 1317 to get to two over 1900...The 1750 martin is at one after only year. I think that seed has the potential to get to wr orange as fast as the 1317.

Yes what genetics are the 1750? & do you have a picture of it? The 1317 has grown the 1998.5 Jutras 1947.5 Clementz,1734 Clementz.Only grown twice by me,only 2 plants grown & growing those 2 seeds is pretty good.If you think the 1750 has as much potential,You should grow it & enter it in the Giant Pumpkin Contest at WWGG.Please join us!!

Well I thought it over.To be fair & open minded.I will let the 1750 Martin seed in the contest.Also the 1172 Grande is in.In fact you may enter any seed you believe can grow a Orange World Record pumpkin.Just write in the comment box the seed line you are entering when you submit the form & pay the $35.Our Goal is to grow a WORLD RECORD ORANGE KIN>I think Wizzy & bnot have great ideas & seed lines to help make this happen.Thanks GUYS!!!
