Somewhere along the line, the big orange fruit started to fade to tan, and then white/cream color.

When did that become a major trend?

Thanks fellow orange heads.

It is a weight contest, not a beauty contest. Sort of like growing Green Squash. Only a select few to chose to grow them. Squash used to be prettier also. A brilliant green.

I think that orange is making a comeback. We have seen many over 1900 pounds in the last few years. The 2009 Wallace has been a great seed to cross into any orange line.

They changed the color ruling in like 2006 or 07 I believe thats when it started to fade. Before that a lot of these pumpkins would of been called a squash
