I have been trying to decide all winter what to cross the with 1912 Carter. Right now I am leaning towards the 1912 Carter x 1916 Barron. Other possibilities that I could try would be 1059 v/m, 901 hunt, 777 young, or my 356 (which is a multi-generation selfed 1610 lieber.

I think the best cross with the 1912 would be 1533 Haist. All the others named above are also great choices. I have the possible crosses with the 1912, 2058 Hawkely, 1998 Jutras, 1626D Ganter, any one of the Engel seeds and my 359.
Great success to you all.

Looks like a lot of 1912 x Engel crosses. I hope it keeps the symmetry, and orange, and brings the weight.

Sorry, late to the party...two planted, one survives...thru major wind storms two day in a row. 907 Young, will it be orange? Late start, hope to pollinate in the next few days? All input appreciated! Peace, Wayne

Wayne, I think only 2 were grown last year and one was a HD winner and both were dark orange. I may grow it again next year but had some new cross experiments I wanted to try this year. Best of luck! John
