If a nice orange pumpkin is going to be mottled, when does that usually start to show?

My 1047.5 last year was a little mottled, and that started showing up in late July.

The 359 Foss has a brilliant textured orange pattern. Not a solid orange. Let me see if I can find some examples of the color I am describing.

That is why I crossed the 1048 back into it. To bring it solid again. The 1374 produced my 781. which for color still has some mottling.
