Hey there! Contrary to popular belief, my wife did NOT turn me into compost after last season.
In an effort to catch everybody up, I was a bit swamped in my semester at the end of last season, so had to disconnect a bit to get things back on track. I tried to come chat a bit over Christmas break, but auction fever kind of drove me back out for a bit to let it die down.
The rumors are in fact true, I will not be growing this upcoming season. A lot are disappointed to hear that, as I am to say it, but I'll be finishing my Junior year in May and the time to lock down a quality internship is here.
I'm confident I've secured one, but won't know until the end of the month, so didn't want to get ahead of myself before I caught everyone back up. It should be a 12 week internship, from mid-May through mid-August, which would effectively kill my chances at a decent season.
Not to worry though! A short break is just the ticket to make you want to come back strong, and not having anything going on this Fall will allow me to concentrate on getting my soil in order. Last year was kind of a rush to get into new ground, so it could use a little love before I get back into it.
I hope to see some Cinderellas out there this year. I was heartbroken when I lost mine late last season, but learned more than expected over the course of the season. It's a difficult and challenging aspect of the hobby, but I really enjoy the skillful nature of it. Hopefully, one of my mis-steps has led one of you to a discovery of your own.
Thank you to all who have looked for me or wondered about me recently. I'll try not to be a stranger this year and wish you all the best of luck in my absence.
Take care and grow some glossy orange!
Cheers, Dustin

Hey folks, just a quick update. It's been a tough month watching the patches swell with big gains, but all is well here in Orlando. I only have a week left before I come home and the anticipation is growing just the same. Can't wait to get that tiller back out there for a fall cover crop!
Keep em glossy out there!

I was thinking about you yesterday Dustin. Thank you for the seeds...havent planted them yet. I think next year might have to put some colored corn on the boundary line to my neighbor.
Looking to see what you grow in the future. After your experience in Orlanda, I expect to see a very artistic garden.
