Was practicing different germination methods on some older seeds and had one ( 753 Dill 07 - 1068 Wallace x 670 Diagle) that germinated. Still three weeks until I actually start my first seeds but do you think it’s worth the effort to try to keep this one going until I can get it into the ground?

my new license plate: INVU the WR-and-beyond-producing 1068 X the Orange Seed to die for---yum! my humble suggestion is to keep it as close to any grow light you have as possible to prevent legginess, although my leggy experiments get to about 8" tall and then the first true leaf takes over as an extension; pretty cool, actually! a clue to the method, my friend? no pressure, but---eg

Was germinated using G3 at 400 ppm 24 hour soak and then paper towel method. Right now just the tap root but will pot up tomorrow. Greenhouse available to keep it growing if I can get cotyledons established.

Hi Joseph, I would keep it, it looks like a really cool cross. I remember Pap and Ron made a cross that was similar to that, that grew some nice looking pumpkins. Pot it up in a five gallon pot and put it in the greenhouse, you will have a nice early one for a weigh off or your stand.

I remember it now. It was the 1110 Walllace. A 1370 Rose x 1068 Wallace. It grew the 1028 Gienger.

WOW that is awesome! Great job. That would have been one of Howard's last seeds that he planted. I checked our records back then. The 753 Dill 07 was medium orange color as it came out of the 1068 Wallace. However the 670 Daigle produced a beautiful round orange 828 pumpkin. The 753 was pollinated on July 27 that year. I do not know of any nice orange AGs that ever came out of this seed but ya never know? Danny

I grew the 1110 in 2007. Just didn't have the ending I had in mind. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=76731
