Catching up on many fine mighty classic orange pumpkins. So many these days which is awesome, but how did I miss these ones I have no idea until now? Being a 1952 Kogut (839 Sandercock x self), the 839 Sandercock seed itself as well? Also I see a 1747.5 Bailey (1885 Werner x 2365 Wolf) cross but no pic I can find? Kudos to these growers! Howard Dill be proud!

Saratoga was a very orange weigh off. There were 5-6 pumpkins that may have won HD in other weigh offs in my opinion. I love the fact that it is getting harder each year to win the Howard Dill award. Go orange!

I agree with John from what I saw there were a lot of ORANGE beauties in Saratoga. The Howard Dill award is getting harder to win at any weighoff these days. I enjoyed following along on Todd's journey as he grew his 1952 off my 839 seed. It was a bright orange Monster and at 12 percent heavy it has gotten quite a bit of off season attention. I have filled quite a few seed requests over the winter. I am pretty sure my 977 that I grew which was also a nice Orange globe were the only 2 839's planted last year. It will be fun to see how the 839 does this year in its Sophomore season.
