No Dave they are not and yes certainly make sure the male flowers are well laden with pollen. I believe every pollen grain determines a seed eventually as long as fertilization takes place? The saying "busy as a bee" is most accurate because the bees can strip that male in no time early in the mornings before a grower gets around to do the deed. Size of a male not sure about that one? LOL

Interesting point Danny. I load my females with tons of pollen but still only get very little seeds from my giants. I think that has to due with all the chemicals I use causing less seeds?
I'd love to hear someone else chime in.

Ya it takes 2 to "tango" and just because female receives a good dose of pollen does not guarantee a successful pollination, let alone a good seed count? Just need a good environment and even timing crucial perhaps. Here we go again "the birds and the bees" lol. Not sure about chemicals affecting seed counts, good point though.
