Maybe the tap roots on your 1832 found the ground water. I think you said you have a high water table. Pumpkin looks awesome.

Thanks Steve! Yes perhaps! It's been pretty dry so the swamp beside the patch doesn't have standing water, but I read that roots can go really deep
