Hey, Andy, you can be the first to consider this idea I've had flash by my p(*_*)ea brain a few times; No NEED to try it per my suggestion butt if anyone needs to consider it, it'd be cool to put about 3-4 good-sized Zip ties on the trailing vine, cut it off and just make sure they choke off the drippage. This would instantly enable anything and disallow the worry about loss of gains to the fruit. Or so I've heard...ha ha ha! eg
PS---Interested to hear yer HH's thought on it and I don't ask often, lol---eric g

I actually tried that a few days ago on a different pumpkin. Used wire, kept turning it with pliers as it tightened down on the vine. Those drips did not want to stop, I was a bit surprised.

See, great minds think alike, just not (always) at the same time---I am out of Zip ties, butt I'll fix that soon. Once I get 'em, it'll be a 'cinch'---I hope.
Your venture maintains a light on one ongoing reason these buggers are so incredible...prolly the basis for kink-free hoses and such. Whence us or anyone has a need, I hope it does work.
I have no whatever-poundser yours is, lol.

How about turning it rather than a tourniquet. I think you'll be ok.
...But as for any dripping amputees I've been using dolomite powder. Seems to stop any bleeding if its applied immediately and I assume the calcium would help with the healing.

I didnt see that other vine. I guess there's nowhere to turn it.
