Let them cruise along rest of season. No prize for the biggest plant lol. Sorry but that was one of Dad's old sayings back in the day. Old story grower visited us here once scratching his head how Dad's pumpkins were so big at that time yet his plants were so much bigger and pumpkins not? Dad said back off the fertilizer etc trying to give him some advice. Well Dad apparently wasted his breath because he was seen buying more fertilizer later that day! Always found that some growers will not believe or take your advice like you're hiding something? Many growers have probably went through this.

Your dad was right of course. The last time we gave our plants any food was 70 or 80 days ago. Some growers don’t believe us but there’s no surprise there.

Do you foliar spray based on your tissue tests or add to water what the plant is lacking?

Some fertilizers will help grow the plant, others will help grow the fruit. Hopefully he was finally buying the latter type, lol. Its hardly worth the risk to add anything this late in the season. But I suppose if you knew exactly what it wanted, I guess it could add 50 lbs.
