I totally agree about the peppers.. they do seem rather fickle early on. Water and light requirements seem to be slightly different for each variety. I tend to run them on the dryer side. I used a humidity dome this year which was helpful. Light was a little weak, so the grew up a touch to much. During the day while I was at work the light evaporated my moisture which resulted in burned cots. I was bummin. I was nervous for a bit.. but as plants do they pulled through. I hope sharing my journey will improve your grow. Nothing like a fresh pepper to set off your lunch time snack. Stay well.

Travis, thanks for the support & insight. Super hots are sooo tricky to start.

Very nice. I've never had any luck with peppers. :(

Good luck. Ps did you notice how long your longest roots were at the end up the season last year? I yanked mine up but the roots all broke at about 12". I wonder if you'd get any improvement by cutting a hole in the bottom of the grow bags to let the roots explore whatever you've got for soil... My former boss in California said the tomatoes I planted at his place were very productive despite his ground being no better than a clay and rock parking lot. Maybe you would prefer that I email you such questions.

Gritty, my small SoCal backyard is all hardscape (pavers). I like your idea though, but cutting the bottoms out would have no benefit & make a big mess. BTW, the roots go all the way to the bottom of my grow bags (2' down), I'm sure they'd run deeper given a chance.
