Sounds like a warzone when I'm tilling. I was told the back part of the property used to be a gravel pit for the town in the early 1900s.

That is something else Andy! You must go through a lot of tines unless you have ones with some special hard coating? No idea how you can get through all that, we have a lot here as well and some lunkers that keep heaving up after all these years. Amazing though how many appear after a rain.

I remember when I first saw your patch 15 plus years ago and thought a pumpkin could never be grown in that rocky soil. lol Boy was I wrong!!!:)
I know you have a massive patch Andy. Do you use Round up on the weeds or just let the weeds grow?
For the people that don't know, Andy grows over 40 plants each year. INSANE!!!

Only 18 plants at home this year. The other patch about 40 minutes away where I grew a bunch the last two years I'm not growing in that one. I've tried a few different things for weeds, giving Trammel a shot this year. We'll see. I liked growing buckwheat and knocking it down as the plants grew, but it's not easy.
I think I somehow only have one busted tine lol.

Just one tine??? Amazing. Ours look like scissors after awhile from hitting the rocks needing replaced. Only good thing about rocks handy for weighing stuff down.
