I use sevin dust because the beetles really take over at my place if they arent all eliminated. Good idea to spray tonight. Tomorrow there will be more than a dozen more.

If your Pyola does not turn them belly up get something that will and keep it, on the plants, untill the cuke beetle give up. If you do not the adults will return to the soil and lay ten fold egg deposits, for next year. The beetle cycle can last a couple, of weeks. If there are many they will eat your polen before you can use it. That is their mission in life. Each one spends about two weeks eating polen, gets fat and sassy and then in the best of health returns to the soil to assure a stronger return next year. Check your open flowers. That is where the smart ones will be.
While they are running about the patch they are moving pathegons with each foot step. They may be your number one enemy. Get those sucker now.

Watch using that Pyola! I used it 2 years ago and it caused leaf burn. I think the outside temprature was too high. Might want to use it half strength. Iv'e been using Triazicide and it works great for me. Home Depot carries it and it lasts at least 2 weeks. Iv'e used Soap Shield fungicide from G.Alive and have had no problems with it

Thanks for everyones advise, I do have some liquid Sevin, guess I'll use that today. Didnt make it to the patch last night. I'll check the info on the Pyola and the temps, thanks. I am also using Soap Sheild. So if I find the beetles in the male flowers can I use the spray inside the flower? I usually just reach inside the flower and squish the bugger, Im over being squemish.. Growing these giants sure takes commitment and perservance..
