Hi all,
I searched high and low for a product similar to Captan with no luck. I did find a dry product called Ortho Home Orchard with 14.7% Captan, 7.5% Malathion, and 15% Methoxychlor. It's advertised as a multi-purpose spray to control insects and diseases. Would this product be OK to mix into a paste and apply to the stem or blossom end of the pumpkin? I have a small crack on one of my stems and would like to get some sort of fungicide on it to keep it clean. Thanks in advance, Brian.

I use a product that is described as Wettable Sulphur. I use it to treat vine and stem splits. I don't remember the exact name or manufacturer. Available at local garden centers. Peace Wayne

Yes to Sulphur...it's safer for you too. Use a fan if the sulphur alone isn't enough to keep the crack dry.

Green Light is the brand of sulphur that they sell at the Lowes in this area.Sulphur worked good for me last year.

Thanks for all the info, I appreciate it. I didn't see any dry sulphur at the few places we have here but I'll take a look again. I've just been hitting it with a 10% bleach solution for now until I can find a proper fungicide. It's a small crack and it seems to be healing well but it never hurts to play it safe I guess. Thanks again!
