Hi everyone, recently we have had a crack at the stem of our biggest pumpkin, and it has grown bigger each day. our efforts seem to of failed to save it...we are now able to see right into the whole pumpkin into the cavity. my question is: if we were to cut this one from the main vine would it help our other pumpkin on a primary vine grow better?. thanks a ( hole ) bunch! Hi growingpains, Sorry to hear about your biggest pumpkin. If it has a hole into cavity, any chances at weigh-off are gone. You may be able to seal the hole with caulking, but more than likely, it will slowly start to rot, whewwwww! what a smell! You'd be best off to get it out of the patch! If your other pumpkin is not fully matured and is still growing, this should benefit it's growth! When these things start to rot, you'll think someone died in your patch! Good luck! kilr
