Hi -
I just discovered a leaf that's completely rotted out at the base. Cut it off, slit it open and discovered this big, fat, white, disgusting, black headed, slug-like thing, and then found out it's an SVB larvae. I found a LOT more of them. Do I cut every leaf off? I have cucumber beetles and PM too. I was about to spray with Sevin. Is this the solution? The pkn is at day 35 and around 375#, my 1st attempt, I was doing so well. How many more growing days can I expect? Thanks -
Craig

I found about 35 SVB in my zucchini patch and went fishing but guess the fish didnt like em...no luck. I would only check the leaves that look like they have an entry hole and frass. Good luck. If they havent made it to the vine that is attached to the pumpkin you may be in luck...Wish I could advise more..

Just remembered another way to take care of SVB. Obtain a hypodermic needle, I have one left over from vacinating my dogs, and stick the needle in the center of the stem about 1 1/2" from the soil line and inject 1 cc of BT/injection. Also inject about one inch above borer hole.
