I live in Southern California, and my second season pumpkins, (July--Oct.) are getting baseball to soccer ball size then turning white, and rotting on the vine. A fellow grower a few miles from me is experiancing the same thing.----------------any suggestions OLDTIMER

I experienced a similar thing. The problem did correct itself, but I totally stopped fertilizing with anything that had nitrogen in it. I believe that I may have been nitrogen rich too long into the pumpkin fruit part of the season. I'm a first time grower, but that is what I learned this year. Temps and weather have been pretty mild. Good luck!
