How well does Orthene work for squash bugs and cucumber beetles? Is it to strong to use on pumpkin plants?

Yes, according to the label the active ingredient in Orthene is 75% Acephate. Anyone had experience with this?

I've heard of people using acephate on pumpkins but it isn't specifically labeled for them that I know of. It does a good job on Squash Bugs so some folks have used it. The formulation isn't known to be hard on sensitive plants so if I was tempted to try Orthene, I would practice the usual temperature precautions on a test plant first.
