Will this be a problem? It overhangs the pumpkin patch, and get mildew every year, is this the same species that affects pumpkins? Should I apply fungicide to it AND the pumpkins?

I've got a huge old lilac too, luckily a little away from the patch. It's a great barometer to guage conditions for mildew. Not sure if it's the same mildew but it gets the leftover pumpkin fungicide sprays to keep it in check. From my experience, Compass worked pretty good. Good luck!

It isn't the same Mildew but it IS a good phenolic indicator. We usually see PM on our Lilacs about 2 weeks before we see it on the AGs.
