Last year I lost a couple seedlings to cutworms. This year I mixed into the soil around each seedling a granular insecticide called Spectracide Triazicide Once and Done.(active ingredient: Lambda-Cyhalothrin 0.1%) It was recomended to me but it is not labeled for any vegies or fruits. Will this product hurt my young seedlings? I know I should have asked this question before I used the insecticide. Thank you! Kevin

If you stayed within the labeled rates then I don't think any harm is coming your seedlings way.

a plastic soda bottle cut into a ring and placed around the seedling and pushed an inch and half into the soil will stop cutworm damage

I live in a heavy area full of chipmonks. Their vine nipping teeth often get blamed on cutworms. The same soda bottle will usually keep them at bay too.
One warning.....that same plastic bottle needs to be vented or it may bake the vine quicker than either the chippys or the cutworms can do their harm.
