Got white flies on the bottom of the leaves of my pumpkins. Should I dust them lightly with a garden dust or use systemic. I hate using anything in or around my garden but realize sometimes one must. These white flies where imported from allowing my wife to bring in her geraniums last winter. They died but they always import the white flies into all my house plants and now they have made it back outside and into my kin patch. I dont want to burn my leaves on the kins. What to use???

I believe you have a type of aphid. I used Ortho Max that has bifenthrin as the active, you can get it at Lowes or Walmart for around 10 bucks. I used 3 Tbs/ gallon and sprayed at sundown with no problems.

White flies are tough. Use admire/merit as a drench and spray....old leaves wont draw up the admire Im told. Ive had them and I did this and it worked. I also used a contact and I think the trick was to spray all the surrounding bushes and plants and respray every three days as today's adult that flies away lays eggs that hatch soon....you need to spray a complete lifecycle.
