In a recent post, Steve (Tremor) suggested that just one bite from a cucumber beetle would be enough to start the unpreventable spread of bacterial wilt. Could this be true? If so, are growers out there really that confident that they have kept their patch 100% beetle free? I'm sure I've had at least a few munches so far. I keep worrying that my season will collapse in a couple months and there's nothing I can do about it!!

It is no different than one of us catching AIDS. One bad bite.
