Do you have some words of wisdom for my friend Ted? He is growing a couple of AG's for the first time and is concerned about his groundhog population. An old-time farmer told him he never had to shoot a groundhog because the ag-lime he kept his vegetable garden & pumpkins douced with kept the groundhogs away. True? Not true? Ted is concerned about any adverse effects of the lime on the pumpkin leaves. Thanks!

Shoot 'em, smoke 'em and trap 'em. It that lime thing were continued more than a little bit it could mess up your patch.....unless, of course, testing called for it.
Just my opinion....if that were a good method, of control, it would be all over the pages, of this site and every farming publication, on the street.
