I spotted my first squash vine borer moth of the year in the patch yesterday (in northern CT).
I was lucky enough to kill it with the clap through the leaf technique. I then applied Talastar later in the evening.

I also spotted and killed my first adult vine borer on Tuesday. I performed a thorough inpsection for eggs and then gave the plants a Triazicide bath. South Jersey growers beware!!!

I wish we could post digital video clips of Ken demonstrating the valuable "clap through the leaf" technique. What say Ken, can the server handle it?
