Well, life inthe patch is getting diverse. Today I saw a caterpillar about one inch long, killed it off manually. then this afternoon i see a tinier verson of the same thin crawling up the main vine of one of the AG's. Too small to photograph. Any californian's know what that might be?? It was walking by picking up its tail and setting it down behind the front part of the caterpillar. That is whay I am not saying worm.
I wil try for pics, but it was too small this time. No evidence of damage on the leaves yet.
What is a good general insecticide?

Sounds like what we call an inch worm here on the East Coast.

Matt. Do you have a Macro setting on your Camera? If so you should be able to get a good, clear close-up picture.

Matt, those are inch worms. We have them down here too. I think they turn into a moth of some sort but not sure. They will eat on your leaves...usually the underside. Appearently, Merit does not seem to harm them since they were eating on my plant and still living on.

I got some kind of an all purpose insecticide and douced the whole patch in it. This morning I found a dead worm, a dead grasshopper and several dead winged things... I am happy with my $7.00 purchase.
