Can anyone tell me what to do about a main vine split. It starts right at the stump and is about 3 inches long and appears to be getting deeper and longer!!! I almost think it is almost split into the center of the vine.... The split follows the direction of vine growth. There is no frass like a SVB has entered and plant shows no sign of distress yet!!!! Thanks

Keep it dry until it heals. My 983 Pukos has a wicked main vine split that starts at the ground and is about 5 inches long. It's so wide the vine looks flat. These linear splits don't normally cause any problems. The 983 has a 20 foot main, 12 foot secondaries and is still growing strong.

It happened to me this past week too. I let it alone for 1 day then put Captan on the split and buried the vine.

Trim some leaves around the stump to give it some sunlight and dry it out. Don't do anything else. My 603 is fine with a 4 inch long split.
