I just posted some pics (not sure when they will be up) to my diary of a couple sick plants that I have. Plants were doing great and then one day the growth slowed and newer leaves turned pale green. It looks to spread across the entire plant eventually but starts with new growth. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what it looks like and what I can do to fight it in the future and fend it off my remaining good plants. I have also seen this in years past. Thanks in advance. Looks like some sort of nutrient deficiency, but I don't know what. yellow new growth means the nutrient is nontranslocatable (stays in the old growth and won't move to the new growth if the plant runs out). That's just my best guess, I'm just a hort student, not an expert.

Mike: We see a lot of WMV here in Michigan, and sometimes the beginning of infected vine tips show lime green like that, along with the tell-tale pattern on the leaves. No mosaic pattern on yours though. Maybe something related to it? Just thinking out loud...

Mike has the same thing I have. My brothers patch is 15 miles away and he has it.I have sent plant samples to Iowa State. Also included soil and many pictures or the problem. I should know later in the week what they have found. I have had this 3 years in a row and lost 25 plants in July.

Mike, I have something sililar on 2 plants, but it seems to hit the old leaves harder. They are getting the same light green color, with brown on the edges. Then the leaves turn yellow and die. The new leaves start out looking Ok then turn light green. One plant has already been pulled. I think mine is bacterial wilt spread by the cucumber beetles. They hit me the day after I set out my seedlings.
It looked like you might have had some severe heat stress also. It has been upper 90's here and I'm sure you haven't been any cooler. Maybe you have a combination of problems??
