Hello: I have a problem with my leaves. They turn yellow at the edge of the leave and the yellow work in and the next thing I know the leave is dead. Maybe a fugue of some type? Or over fertilizing? Some times I see the yellow starting in the middle of the leaves. I still have new growth and that looks good. Thanks for your help. Mark

I think we all have that, i might be concernd with vine borer, if not, could be calcium def, what i did is add Ironite 10 pounds per 1000sq ft it helped, and dont over water, but water the Ironite in, it worked for me , but not always the case with other growers. Exculding any disease, that may be somthing else

Hey neighbor, I've got the same thing. After inspecting the plant closely due to a squash bug infestation, I found the dreaded signs of svb. First time for me, never had a problem in years past. Same symptoms. I watered in merit around the stumps and mains, was only able to extract one worm from a leaf stem. Guess we'll see what happens but I'm not holding my breath for Stillwater this year.

I check to see if I have a calcium def: and I'll check my PH, boy just when you think things are going well stuff like this happen> :(
I did have alot of Squash bugs and I think I got rid of most of those with SEVEN powder. Where do you get Merit ?
This for the Cottage Grove person I was hoping to get one in our state Fair this year. I don't know if that going to happen I live in South Maplewood.
Both of you Thank you for your help. Mark

Mark,
I bought grub ex, its the same chemical as merit (imipre-something? Tremor help!). Note that they recently updated grub ex to something new, so be sure and check the label. Also, I had better luck with triazinine (again,Tremor!!)than sevin, that and killing every adult and eggs I could see. Good luck on the fair, that even seems far away given the state my punks are in. Where in S Maplewood? I'm off of HW 61 and Jamiaca. Have you gone to Stillwater ever?

Also Imidicloprid is in Bayer Tree and Shrub in a blue bottle. Check the active ingredients.
Also check overwatering as the weather has cooled on the west coast, I have found I was overwatering a bit.

Because the plant roots are unable to breath..the leaves then show Chlorosis(yellowing. If you have heavy clay soil this is very common in spring.

Shannon, about the hopps.... Mark, grub ex at Home Despot last fall, not sure if the formula has changed now. I sure don't have one that big, it's an Engel (heehee) and wagon wheeled to boot! I think I got another to finally set the last few days, we'll see when I get home tonight. Other than that, one 100 lber on a secondary, that's all she wrote this year for me.Talk about water, 3'' the other night, just waiting for something to pop now. Luck,
Bob
