Hi, I have a pumpkin that the stump rotted and traveled up the main vine. After cutting the main, I now have about six foot left before the fruit and about 10 feet after the pumpkin. Since cuting off the main it has continued to grow 34lbs, 36lbs a day. Should I pick it and take it to the county fair this weekend or leave it and try to make it to October? 132-88-86 Thanks for any advice!!!

If the rest of the vine is in good shape & the disease isn't spreading the fruit might still make respectable gains. The Wallace's grew a 919 on a plant that sounds a lot like this one. Maybe Pap will see this thread & comment. How many square feet of plant is still healthy?

If you have time and space grow it. It will be something to talk about the rest, of your life.
