The substance that is supposed to kill the bees is Imidacloprid. The Bayer product Gaucho is no more available in France and other European countries. On the other hand virus infections like varoatose kill bees. The research has to continue because there are no final results right now. Many other reasons like gene manipulation, monoculture etc. must also be considered. As far as I can do something for these useful insects in my patch, I only use insecticide that is proven not to be dangerous for bees.
