I have an outbreak of PM on the leaves of some morning glory leaves next to my patch. Will this type of PM also effect my Pumpkin plant leaves? I have begun to treat with baking powder and am thinking about using Neem oil as well. Please advise. It seems way to early for PM but one never knows! Thanks LB

LB try spraying some of your stuff on those glories and see if it zapps their PM for a spearament. I noticed the same at my house but it wasnt close to the patch yet.

PM is funny..it shows up on my Lilacs well before the pumpkins...I have to believe there are different varieties..Once it hits the Peonies..it's all out war! I think I've delayed it by at least three weeks now from my normal outbreak....not sure if it's from last heat wave or the program is working...I have to believe with all the rain PM was everywhere..so I have to think I did good!

PM was destroying our Peonies back in May which was very early even for here. By June they were toast.
There are many strains of PM. I like to use other species as phenolic indicators to time Pumpkin sprays.
I don't really know if the same strains affect Morning Glories but I'd certainly start spraying the pumpkins preventively right now. We often have to start here in the last week of June to stay clean all year.

Interesting test. Sprayed half of the Morning Glories with Neptunes fish and seaweed and baking powder the other half I left alone. The fish, seaweed and baking powder side appears to no longer be infected. I will continue to treat my pumpkin leaves with this combination as well as using AGRO-K SprayTech Oil.
