I have let some newer leaves grow to replace my older leaves and have noticed the newer leaves turning a bright yellow, was wondering if this could be from my mag. being to high and from my PH being to low?, or is there something eles that causes this also. I know I need a SOIL TEST to tell for sure but at the end of the season it would be to late to send in for a soil test and then wait for results, so just a educated guess will do. Only thing I been using at this point in the game is Nutri-cal. The leaves look exactly like this that are in Booms Diary but just not as bad. The yellowing starts out at the tips of the leaf and works it way back tward the back of the leaf. Its weird because its only happening on a single leaf here and there in my patch area. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=55589

Try some liquid iron see if that has any effect. Could be the plant is just having some end of the season blues and the chloraphyl is just shutting down...If ya see any moss I would go with iron..but wait there are some much more knowledgable inputs sure to follow.

At this point I never worry about looks and changes. Plants are now somewhere in the shutting down process. Just keep the normal supply of nutrients flowing until the fruit growth stops. The three basics fish, kelp and molasses in the soil, should take care of things. Adding a bit of iron would make sense. It certainly would not hurt. The plant is on it's way out. Ugly is part of the picture.

Bingo. Cold weather causes many nutrient shifts in plants. Some bacteria slow down now which alters both nutrient availability & the plants ability to metabolize. Trying to make corrections now would be futile & could cause problems with unbalance later.
