This past fall I purchased some Ortho Bug B Gon Japanese Beetle Killer for a good price. It is very effective against japanese beetles, as well as long lasting. I am hoping to use this on my pumpkins to repel cucumber beetles. Last year I used Sevin, but not find it to last very long, and though I never had many beetles I lost a nice plant with a very fast growing pumpkin to bacterial wilt. There are no references on the bottle for use on vegetable plants. I would contact Ortho but, because of liability I don't believe that they would answer me. sorry for such a long question KathyT

Ortho is have website issues so I can't look up the percent active ingredient. Is it 75% Acephate?
If so the nominal rate of 2/3 lb per acre (1/4 oz per 1000) would work in most situations.
There have also been up to 97% version that go out at 1/2 lb/acre or 2/3 teaspoon per gallon.
Let's make sure we know which one we're dealing with.
