I had a small section 3 feet out on my main vine that started to look pretty ratty. Some experienced growers told me to put something on it for safety. I applied some sulfer dust and put a small shade structure for it as to not burn from the heat. The vine looks the same and is still hard so hopefully everything will be fine. Just in case what should I look out for (symptoms) if the vine starts to rot so I can keep an eye on it? Thanks for the help, Jim

Jim the vine looks ratty or the leaves also look ratty and are wilting? and after that the vine starts to look good for how much longer. or is it the last three feet of main. Look for leaf wilt that will tell ya something is really wrong...not just heat wilt but sustained droopiness.

just a small spot 3 feet out from the stump on the main vine looks ratty. Leaves look strong and healthy, pumpkin is growing well. Just a small spot, so I just want to watch it close.
