Should I actually spray the plant and leaves or spray on the ground around the plant. the directions on the bottle says to pour on the ground for tree protection. I have already done a soil drench with wettable merit before I planted. also how much do you mix per gallon of water.thanks!

I mix 3 oz. in a 2 gallon watering can, and sprinkle my plants so they are wet. with 10 foot vines I use about a gallon per plant. Seems to be working pretty good, not burning the plant and all the little critters are gone. I did have to sprinkle twice this season: once a week after I put the plant int he ground (same mixture, but I only used a little bit because the plant was so small), and a month later (since the bugs were coming back and the plant was about 10 times bigger than when it started). The bottle says you only have to use it once and you're done for the whole year, but they didn't design the product for plants that grow a foot a day.
