Sweet potato plants because I sprayed the ortho max with bifenthrin on them.. any idea why?? thanks!

Because they don't want you to use them. I assume that Ortho hasn't labeled their Ortho-Max for vegetables so this would be the standard legal speak.
Check the active ingredient in what you have. If it is bifenthrin then also take a look at this:

Capture 2EC is 25% Bifenthrin & is absolutely labeled for use on Sweet Potatoes.

I use Ortho max on vegetables and its labled for certain veggies including pumpkins right on the label. I dont know about sweet potatos though. I dont use it often but it works great to kill pests. Now im just plain confused.

ITs not a systemic, should be fine if you wait a week after harvest and scrub well.

Hey Blackcloud, I'd eat them, because at least you know what's on them, The veggies you buy at the grocery store probably have 10 times worse things sprayed on them, just to keep the color
