I got a little too aggresive in staking down my main and managed to split it. The split goes about halfway through. Can this be repaired? Or should I train one of my secondaries as a new main? Also how badly does this set the plant back? Pics are in my diary. Thanks Darren O.

Darren, The main on my 1446 Werner split cross ways a couple inches above ground when it only had 3 feet of main growing. I took two twist ties (bread ties), put one above the break and one below and applied Captan. After about a week and a half I was able to take the twist ties off and everything healed up nicely. The plant maybe checked up a little right after the split but once it healed everything has been fine since. Hope this helps.
